Victim Assistance Program

Role

The Itasca County Attorney's Office Victim Assistance Program provides assistance, support, and referrals to crime victims, their families, and witnesses in criminal cases being prosecuted by the Itasca County Attorney's Office.

Services

We will assist you with filing for restitution (any out of pocket expenses incurred due to the crime) and/or filing for Crime Victim Reparations, a program through the State of Minnesota to assist victims of violent crime.

We also provide a court escort upon request and information regarding court dates, plea agreements, and case outcomes.

Victim's Rights

As a victim of crime, Minnesota Law provides you with specific rights. These rights apply to all cases including juvenile cases. Minnesota has a comprehensive Victim's Rights Act located in Chapter 611A of Minnesota Statutes.
