Health Care Assistance

Itasca County administers many different Health Care Programs, including:

Medical Assistance (MA):

MA provides medical care for Minnesota adults and children. You can apply for MA at www.mnsure.org. MA may also help pay medical bills going back three months from when we get your application.  MA may also be able to help you pay the cost of your other heath insurance.

Medical Assistance for Employed Persons with Disabilities (MA-EPD):

MA-EPD gives employed people with disabilities MA coverage even if their income is more than the MA standard.

Medicare Savings Programs

Programs such as Qualified Medicare Beneficiary (QMB), Service Limited Medicare Beneficiary (SLMB), Qualified Individual (QI), Qualified Working Disabled (QWD) will help you pay a portion of your Medicare premium.

Long Term Care and Waivered Services

There are several programs that can help you pay for long term care and waivered services for yourself or a family member. This could include services at home and in a facility. You can contact the Itasca County Public Health Department to learn about these programs. You can also contact the Fincial Assistance Division for more information.
