The department supervises all juvenile probation and all adults placed on supervision for misdemeanor/gross misdemeanor offenses. Misdemeanors are offenses that are punishable by up to 90 days in jail. The lowest-level Driving Under the Influence is an example.
Gross Misdemeanors are offenses that are punishable by up to a year in jail. Repeat DUI offenses, or a DUI with an elevated blood-alcohol level, are examples.

Payments are made directly at the probation department via cash, check, money order, cashier’s check or credit card. Supervision fees can be worked off by performing approved community work service (CWS). Fees must be satisfied for consideration of early discharge. Failure to satisfy these fees by payment or approved CWS will result in revenue recapture being filed with the State Department of Revenue.
